Yong Tau Foo is a Hakka Chinese dish consisting of different food items. The primary item is tofu filled with ground meat mixture or fish paste, but  there is also bittergourd, eggplant slices and more. Our miniature Yong Tau Foo Hawker features a figurine carrying his mobile stall.

This figurine set pairs well with our other street hawkers like the Char Kway Teow stall and Ice Ball Vendor.

More About Yong Tau Foo in the Old Days

In the early days of Singapore, hawkers prepared the food items themselves. But in the 1950s, some businesses started producing them in large quantities to distribute like a franchise to individual hawkers. These partnership deals would include the rental of cart stalls, cutlery and sauce. Back then, 3 pieces of food items would cost 10 cents.
